Inspiration
I have two daughters who love to dance. I've attended many concerts, eisteddfod's, and sat through many impromptu performances at home, and I'm constantly inspired by their desire and joy they get from dance. They provide continuous inspiration by their dedication, desire and aspiration to constantly improve.
Why
As a father who grew up playing football, rugby, climbing trees and often returning home with a bump or two, Dance was, and still is, somewhat slightly foreign to me. Watching my two girls rehearse, rehearse, rehearse and finally perform and compete whilst aspiring to perform their best is truly inspiring.
I Initially embarked on a Ballerina Project involving my two girls, which has since grown to include other talented dancers from around the world. I decided to photograph Ballerina's because I want to showcase their exceptional talent and share the same joy and inspiration which has influenced me. Throughout the journey I want to mature as a photographer, have some fun, and ultimately inspire others.
Artist Statement
I have been encouraged and inspired by the talent I've had the opportunity to watch and photograph over the past couple of years, and my hope is that this inspires other. The Ballerina Project displays the beauty of dance and showcases the expressive nature of each dancer.
